Bioactivity:
Diltiazem is a non-dihydropyridine (non-DHP) calcium channel blocker that relaxes the smooth muscle in arterial walls, thus opening (dilating) arteries, allowing easier blood flow, and lowering blood pressure, and is used to treat hypertension, angina pectoris, and certain types of arrhythmias.
