CI-966 is a central nervous system inhibitor, which is a highly selective inhibitor of GABA reuptake, especially GABA transporter 1 (GAT-1) (IC50 = 0.26 μ m). It has potential as an anticonvulsant, anxiety drug, and neuroprotective therapy.
