Mephentermine sulfate is a cardiac stimulant, before as a stimulant in psychiatry, has been used as a treatment for low blood pressure. Mephentermine sulfate is a sympathomimetic agent with specificity for alpha-1 adrenergic receptors. It is used to maintain blood pressure in hypotensive states such as following spinal anesthesia.
