Cavosonstat is an orally bioavailable inhibitor of S-nitrosoglutathione reductase. Cavosonstat promotes cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) maturation and plasma membrane stability, with a mechanism of action complementary to CFTR correctors and potentiators.
