Long Description:
TNF-related weak inducer of apoptosis (TWEAK) is a member of the TNF ligand family1 that has pleiotropic biological functions including proapoptotic, proangiogenic and proinflammatory activities.2 TWEAK induces skeletal muscle atrophy.3 TWEAK functions both as a type II transmembrane protein and as a cleaved soluble protein. TWEAK transcripts are expressed in heart, brain, skeletal muscle, pancreas, immune system, ovary, and placenta.4
