Used for the culture of lactic acid metabolizing bacteria. Used to identify and characterized galectins. Used in food industry and pharmaceutical applications. Based on its bland flavor it is used as a carrier and stabilizer of aromas and carrier in inhalable formulations in pharmaceutical products.
