Long Description:
Chemical. CAS: 545-47-1. Formula: C30H50O. MW: 426.72. Lupeol, is a dietary triterpene found in certain fruits, vegetables, and medicinal plants. Lupeol has been shown tohave a broad range of activities, including antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anticancer, antihyperglycemic, antidyslipidemic, antimutagenic, anti-diabetic, anti-asthma, antiprotozoal, antimicrobial, cardioprotective, hepatoprotective, nephroprotective and neuroprotective properties. It is a multi-target agent targeting proteins such as alpha-glucosidase, alpha-amylase, protein tyrosine phosphatase 1B (PTP 1B) and TCA cycle enzymes and targeting pathways such as IL-1 receptor-associated kinase-mediated toll-like receptor 4 (IRAK-TLR4), Bcl-2 family, nuclear factor kappa B (NF-kappa), phosphatidylinositol-3-kinase (PI3-K)/Akt and Wnt/beta-catenin signaling pathways.
