Long Description:
Chemical. CAS: 552-66-9. Formula: C21H20O9. MW: 416.38. Daidzin is a naturally occuring isoflavone. It is the major active component of the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) derived from radix puerariae (Kudzu) that is commonly used to treat alcohol abuse. Like other isoflavones, daidzin has anti-oxidant, anti-carcinogenic and anti-atherosclerotic activities. Daidzin directly inhibits mitochondrial aldehyde dehydrogenase 2 (ALDH-2) (IC50=80nM) and is an effective anti-dipsotropic isoflavone.
