Long Description:
Chemical. CAS: 34523-28-9. Formula: C12H12FNO2S. Molecular Weight: 253.3. Dansyl fluoride is a fluorogenic reagent used as a specific fluorescent probe for serine proteases and is a serine-type protease inhibitor. It is an active site directed fluorescent inhibitor of guanidinobenzoatase (GB), which binds to both the colonic isoenzymic forms of the GB. The GB on cell surfaces after binding dansyl fluoride makes the cells fluoresce blue. It has been used for the location of tumour cells in frozen sections of human lung squamous cell carcinoma and colonic carcinoma tissues. It is used as a precursor for the synthesis of other derivatives like dansyl amide. Spectral data: lambdaex 360nm; lambdaem 580nm (methanol).
