Bioactivity:
Estetrol is a selective nuclear estrogen receptor modulator. Estetrol also is a natural estrogen synthesized exclusively during pregnancy by the human fetal liver. Estetrol exerts estrogenic actions on the endometrium or the central nervous system but presents antagonistic effects on the breast.
