Yakuchinone A is a natural product isolated from Alpinia oxyphylla Miquel. Yakuchinone-A has strong inhibitory effects on the synthesis of prostaglandins and leukotrienes in vitro. Yakuchinone A inhibits the expression of cyclooxygenase-2 and of inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS).
