Fotemustine is a chloroethylating nitrosourea with antineoplastic activity. Fotemustine alkylates DNA in cells, resulting in inhibition of DNA synthesis, cell cycle arrest, and finally apoptosis. This agent is lipophilic and crosses the blood-brain barrier.
