NB-598 suppresses triglyceride biosynthesis through the farnesol pathway. NB-598 is an effective competitive inhibitor of squalene epoxidase (SE). SE inhibitor NB-598 significantly inhibited both basal and glucose-stimulated insulin secretion from mouse pancreatic islets.
