Buformin (1-butylbiguanide) is an oral antidiabetic drug of the biguanide class. It also inhibits the synthesis of glucose by the liver. Buformin delays absorption of glucose from the gastrointestinal tract increases insulin sensitivity and glucose uptake into cells.
