Compound 48/80 trihydrochloride is a mixture of condensation products of N-methyl-p-methoxyphenethylamine with formaldehyde. It inhibits phosphatidylinositol-specific phospholipase C activity from human platelets. It is also a histamine releaser and a mast cell degranulator.
