Long Description:
Chemical. CAS: 70375-24-5 | 65147-04-8 (free base). Formula: C31H45N7O7 . HCl. MW: 627.7 . 36.5. Boc-Val-Pro-Arg-AMC is a sensitive fluorogenic peptide substrate for α-thrombin (Km = 21 uM, kcat = 109 s-1) and the α-thrombin-staphylocoagulase complex (Km = 25 uM, kcat = 89 s-1). It also serves as a substrate vor Kallikrein 5 and 8. Activity is quantified by the release of free fluorescent 7-amino-4-methylcoumarin (AMC) which excites at 360-380nm and emits at 440-460nm when interacting with a target enzyme. This substrate has also been used for the rapid detection of MRSA (methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus).
