Background:
Transmembrane emp24 domain-containing protein 2 (TMED2) is a member of the EMP24/GP25L/p24 family. It is localized to cytoplasmic vesicles, the endoplasmic reticulum, and the Golgi apparatus. TMED2 mediates vesicular protein trafficking mainly in the secretory pathway of proteins between the endoplasmic reticulum and the Golgi.
