Long Description:
Recombinant Antibody. This antibody reacts to human CDX2. Isotype: Rabbit IgG. Immunogen: Recombinant human CDX2. Application: IHC. Liquid. 50% Glycerol/PBS with 1% BSA and 0.09% sodium azide. CDX2 is a caudal-type homeobox gene that encodes an intestine-specific transcription factor expressed early in intestinal development and that may be involved in the regulation of proliferation and differentiation of intestinal epithelial cells. CDX2 plays a role in early embryonic development of the intestinal tract and aberrant expression of this gene is associated with intestinal inflammation and tumorigenesis. The CDX2 protein is expressed in primary and metastatic colorectal carcinomas and has also been demonstrated in the intestinal metaplasia of the stomach and intestinal-type gastric cancer. It is not expressed in the normal gastric mucosa. Loss of CDX2 protein expression has been correlated with loss of differentiation in colorectal cancers. CDX2 antibodies can be useful in distinguishing the gastrointestinal origin of metastatic adenocarcinomas and carcinoids.
