Long Description:
Chemical. CAS: 90-60-8. Formula: C7H4Cl2O2. MW: 191.01. 3,5-Dichlorosalicylaldehyde has been used as a building block or a reactant in the preparation of Schiff base ligands and (RS)-3,5-dichloro-2-[[(1-phenylethyl)imino]methyl]phenol. 3,5-Dichlorosalicylaldehyde is used as a Mg2+ fluorescent sensor. It works based on the Mg2+-induced formation of a 2:1 3,5-Dichlorosalicylaldehyde-Mg2+ complex, producing a chelation-enhanced fluorescence effect.
