(Z)-p-cyano-α-Cyanostilbene (compound 11) is a phenantrene derivative that has antiproliferative activity. (Z)-p-cyano-α-Cyanostilbene shows significant selectivity against HeLa (IC 50 =0.21 uM) and HepG2 (IC 50 =0.230 uM) cells without cytotoxic against normal skin fibroblasts (IC 50 >100 uM) [1].
