(S)-Bromoenol lactone ((S)-BEL) inhibits the arachidonate release induced by vasopressin from cultured rat aortic smooth muscle (A10) cells with an IC 50 of 2 uM. (S)-Bromoenol lactone is an irreversible, chiral, mechanism-based calcium-independent phospholipase A2β (iPLA 2 β) inhibitor [1].
