T-2513 hydrochloride is a selective inhibitor of topoisomerase I. T-2513 hydrochloride covalently binds to the topoisomerase I-DNA complex, maintains its stability, and is able to inhibit DNA replication and RNA synthesis, ultimately leading to cell death.
