5-Monobutyl methotrexate is an antineoplastic antimetabolite with immunosuppressant properties. It is a TETRAHYDROFOLATE DEHYDROGENASE inhibitor and prevents the formation of tetrahydrofolate, necessary for synthesis of thymidylate, an essential component of DNA.
