Further Information

Bioactivity:
Forasartan is a non - peptide angiotensin II receptor antagonist with antihypertensive activity. Forasartan and angiotensin II compete to bind AT1 receptor subtypes in vascular smooth muscle, thereby blocking angiotensin II-mediated vasoconstriction, leading to vasodilation. In addition, antagonism against AT1 in the adrenal gland prevents angiotensin II-induced adrenal cortical synthesis and aldosterone secretion stimulation.
