Further Information

Additional Names:
GLUL Monoclonal Antibody: Glutamate ammonia ligase, glutamine synthase, glutamate decarboxylase, GLNS, GS, PIG43, PIG59, cell proliferation-inducing protein 59
Application Note:
GLUL antibody can be used for detection of GLUL by Western blot at 0.5 - 1 μg/mL. Antibody can also be used for immunohistochemistry starting at 5 μg/mL. For immunofluorescence start at 20 μg/mL.
Background:
GLUL Monoclonal Antibody: Glutamate ammonia ligase (GLUL) belongs to the glutamine synthetase family and catalyzes the synthesis of glutamine from glutamate and ammonia. Glutamine is a main source of energy and is involved in cell proliferation, inhibition of apoptosis, and cell signaling. GLUL is expressed during early fetal stages, and plays an important role in controlling body pH by removing ammonia from circulation. Recent studies have suggested that elevated levels of GLUL may be an early marker for hepatocellular carcinoma.
