Application Note:
LCAT antibody can be used for detection of LCAT by ELISA at 1:312500. LCAT antibody can be used for detection of LCAT by western blot at 5.0 μg/mL, and HRP conjugated secondary antibody should be diluted 1:50,000 - 100,000.
Background:
LCAT is an extracellular cholesterol esterifying enzyme, lecithin-cholesterol acyltransferase. The esterification of cholesterol is required for cholesterol transport. Mutations in its gene have been found to cause fish-eye disease as well as LCAT deficiency. This gene encodes the extracellular cholesterol esterifying enzyme, lecithin-cholesterol acyltransferase.
