DES antibody can be used for detection of DES by ELISA at 1:312500. DES antibody can be used for detection of DES by western blot at 5.0 μg/mL, and HRP conjugated secondary antibody should be diluted 1:50,000 - 100,000.
Background:
DES is a muscle-specific class III intermediate filament. Homopolymers of this protein form a stable intracytoplasmic filamentous network connecting myofibrils to each other and to the plasma membrane. Mutations in its gene are associated with desmin-related myopathy, a familial cardiac and skeletal myopathy (CSM), and with distal myopathies.This gene encodes a muscle-specific class III intermediate filament.
