Further Information

Additional Names:
BCL2, Bcl-2, PPP1R50
Application Note:
BCL2 antibody can be used for detection of BCL2 by ELISA at 1:312500. BCL2 antibody can be used for detection of BCL2 by western blot at 1.0 μg/mL, and HRP conjugated secondary antibody should be diluted 1:50,000 - 100,000.
Background:
The BCL2 gene encodes an integral outer mitochondrial membrane protein that blocks the apoptotic death of some cells such as lymphocytes. Constitutive expression of BCL2, such as in the case of translocation of BCL2 to Ig heavy chain locus, is thought to be the cause of follicular lymphoma.
