Further Information

Additional Names:
Protein Rev, Anti-repression transactivator, Anti-repression transactivator protein, ART/TRS
Application Note:
HIV-Rev antibody can be used for the detection of HIV-Rev by Western Blot.
Background:
FUNCTION: Rev appears to act post-transcriptionally to relieve negative repression of Gag and Env production.

PTM: Phosphoprotein whose state of phosphorylation is mediated by a specific serine kinase activity present in the nucleus. Phosphorylated at separate regions by protein kinase CK2 and MAPK. Phosphorylation by CK2 could play a role in Rev down-regulation.

SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Nuclear; accumulates in the nucleoli.
Buffer:
Phosphate-Buffered Saline. No preservatives added.
Concentration:
1 mg/mL
Conjugate:
Unconjugated
