Further Information

Additional Names:
SMPD2, NSMASE, ISC1, NSMASE1
Application Note:
SMPD2 antibody can be used for detection of SMPD2 by ELISA at 1:1562500. SMPD2 antibody can be used for detection of SMPD2 by western blot at 1.25 μg/mL, and HRP conjugated secondary antibody should be diluted 1:50,000 - 100,000.
Background:
SMPD2 converts sphingomyelin to ceramide. Hydrolyze 1-acyl-2-lyso-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine (lyso-PC) and 1-O-alkyl-2-lyso-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine (lyso-platelet-activating factor). The physiological substrate seems to be Lyso-PAF.
