Application Note:
UROD antibody can be used for detection of UROD by ELISA at 1:62500. UROD antibody can be used for detection of UROD by western blot at 2.5 μg/mL, and HRP conjugated secondary antibody should be diluted 1:50,000 - 100,000.
Background:
UROD is the fifth enzyme of the heme biosynthetic pathway. This enzyme is responsible for catalyzing the conversion of uroporphyrinogen to coproporphyrinogen through the removal of four carboxymethyl side chains. Mutations and deficiency in this enzyme are known to cause familial porphyria cutanea tarda and hepatoerythropoetic porphyria. This gene encodes the fifth enzyme of the heme biosynthetic pathway.
