Application Note:
LSS antibody can be used for detection of LSS by ELISA at 1:312500. LSS antibody can be used for detection of LSS by western blot at 1 μg/mL, and HRP conjugated secondary antibody should be diluted 1:50,000 - 100,000.
Background:
LSS catalyzes the conversion of (S)-2,3 oxidosqualene to lanosterol. It is a member of the terpene cyclase/mutase family and catalyzes the first step in the biosynthesis of cholesterol, steroid hormones, and vitamin D. Two transcript variants encoding the same protein have been found for this gene. The protein encoded by this gene catalyzes the conversion of (S)-2,3 oxidosqualene to lanosterol.
