Additional Names:
GRO2, GROb, MIP2, MIP2A, SCYB2, MGSA-b, MIP-2a, CINC-2a, GRO2, GROB, C-X-C motif chemokine 2, Growth-regulated protein beta, Gro-beta
Background:
All three isoforms of GRO are CXC chemokines that can signal through the CXCR1 or CXCR2 receptors. The GRO proteins chemoattract and activate neutrophils and basophils. Recombinant human GRO-beta is a 7.9 kDa protein consisting of 73 amino acids including the 'ELR' motif common to the CXC chemokine family that bind to CXCR1 or CXCR2.
Biological Activity:
Biological activity was determined by its ability to chemoattract CXCR2 transfected 293 cells using a concentration range of 10.0 - 100.0 ng/mL.
