Background:
GLRX5 is monothiol glutaredoxin involved in the biogenesis of iron-sulfur clusters. GLRX5 required for normal iron homeostasis. GLRX5 is required for normal regulation of hemoglobin synthesis by the iron-sulfur protein ACO1.
