Further Information

Applications Description:
IHC(C, P)
Background:
The antibody, which is specific for human Calcitonin, may be used for the detection of C-cells in the thyroid glands. It is also suitable for the investigation of C-cell hyperplasia and for the detection of medullary thyroid carcinoma in which calcitonin is over-expressed. Calcitonin is a peptide hormone of 32 aa length, which is produced by C-cells of the thyroid gland. The hormone is responsible for the homeostasis of Calcium in blood and for Calcium uptake into bone cells. Human Calcitonin .
Caution:
*These antibodies are intended for in vitro research use only. They must not be used for clinical diagnostics and not for in vivo experiments in humans or animals.
** The preservative sodium azide is known to be poisonous and potentially hazardous to health. It should be handled only by trained staff. Despite of the product's low azide concentration it must be handled with care. Dispose according to regional rules!
