Chickens were immunized with extracts from both male and female heartworms (Dirofilaria immitus). After multiple immunizations in Freund's adjuvant, eggs were collected and the IgY fraction prepared. The antibodies were immunoaffinity purified from a solid phase immunoabsorbant.
